| Overview |
HCI Africa is an independent affiliate of a global think-tank, educator and research organisation. Our overarching goal is to break down the functional silos within the Human Resources to position strategic Human Capital and Talent Management as an emerging business function that produces high value in public and private sector organisations. Our work is focussed in 3 main areas:
Talent Management Research: Audits & Indexes
Through research and collaboration with Universities and Business Schools, HCI Africa collects original, creative ideas from a field of the brightest thought leaders in talent management. These ideas are then researched. In line with our education and information dissemination roles research results are provided to member companies as a ‘call to action’ for CEOs and HR Directors.
Education
Public and on-site accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) workshops are facilitated for those wishing to make the transition from transactional HR to a more strategic Human Capital & Talent Management strategy.
Membership Services
We are an information hub for companies and individuals and have an array of membership benefits; eJournal, white papers, webinars (300+ to date), thought leadership summits, a network of 20 community advisors and blogs amongst others.
The Future: In Support of the National Good
HCI Africa was originally not intended to be a delivery vehicle or producer of ‘Talent’. That said, towards the latter part of 2008 ‘pressure’ from the marketplace mounted for the Executive Board of HCI Africa to refocus our mission on delivering both operational membership services/products AND to take on larger talent management goals in the name of the ‘National Good’. An Executive Board decision was made to create strategic interventions and projects intended to (a) leverage a step-change in the way line management and HR play out their talent management roles, and (b) initiate a country-wide drive to have groups and individuals ‘get involved’ in the business of delivering talent to the marketplace.
