Christine Williams - Chairperson

Christine has been fortunate enough to have worked with executive leadership teams in South Africa, Europe and many African countries, to develop a variety of growth and people strategies for a wide range of organisations across various industries for almost 20 years. Having started her career in innovation and brand management in FMCG she developed a passion for insight-led business and growth strategies. Christine spent 3 years in Paris on an international secondment before consulting to a wide range of clients in several industries and geographies for close on 10 years. This exposed her to the role leadership plays in transforming organisations and the importance of human capital in successfully executing business strategies. It was this belief that resulted in her joining Standard Bank in 2006 and deciding to take on the role of Head of Executive Leadership Development for the Standard Bank Group in 2008. She then ran the Standard Bank’s Global Leadership Centre before being appointed as Global Head for People Strategies and Metrics for the Group in 2009, which is the position she held until December 2011. Christine is a member of the IODSA Sustainable Development Forum and has B. Business Science (Honours) degrees from University of Johannesburg with a CMSA.

   
John Antony - Vice-Chairperson & Director

John has 26 years of senior leadership and consulting experience in a diverse range of industries across Asia Pacific, Europe and Africa. A Singaporean by birth, he has been on assignments in South Africa since August 2008. His consulting expertise across a diverse range of both management and human resources - from Strategy Development & Implementation (BSC), Change Management, Leadership Development, through to HR Systems Development & Implementation. John is currently focused on sustainable wealth creation in companies through growth and value creation. His acute sense of cultural sensitivity and capacity to work with diverse teams of talent has brought about the best in people. He is currently Managing Director of Antony Consulting, a change management consultancy focused in the Asia Pacific market; Chairman of Klout9 Global Services Ltd, a Mauritius-based company that provides best of breed niche IT products and services; and Chairman of Global Education Services Pty Ltd, a premium, bespoke leadership development and executive education company targeting African countries. John holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands, a Graduate Diploma in Personal Administration from the Singapore Institute of Management and a Bachelors of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore.

   
Suzy Boucher - Managing Executive

Suzy Boucher is the Managing Executive of the Human Capital Institute Africa (HCI Africa). The role of the Managing Executive is to move HCI Africa towards peak performance in the areas of product/service innovation, ensure enhanced revenue growth to fund the work of HCI Africa, and solidifying the market position as the pre-eminent thought leader in the Talent Leadership – Talent Management space for Africa in a globally competitive knowledge economy.

During her 19 years’ of experience, Suzy has been exposed to the cultural differences of Africa, the Middle East, Australasia and Europe both as a professional and a resident. Suzy has worked with a wide range of organisations (Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Mining, Home Security, Hospitality and Professional Services), as a senior leader and a consultant, bringing about business and leadership change and alignment.

Suzy’s passion is to help organisations unpack and align their strategy and help them to build their required talent and leadership capabilities, equipping them to win at their chosen game. She is a strong strategist and brings a fusion of creativity, innovation and pragmatism to all that she does. Suzy holds an honours degree in commerce from the University of Natal (majoring in business administration), and is a certified SAP consultant.

   
Jeff Sacht - Director

Jeff Sacht is the founder, and Executive Director of the Human Capital Institute Africa (HCI Africa). Jeff is registered as both an Organisational & Industrial Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and as a Chartered Human Resource (CHR) Practitioner with the South African Board for Personnel Practice (SABPP). His major strength is to custom-design solutions in the areas of Human Capital & Talent Management, Change Management, Performance Management, & Organisation Assessment amongst others. He consults to line managers and HR Professionals in both the Public and Private sectors. Jeff has extensive corporate level experience having worked predominantly in Head Office specialist project units for large blue chip companies in the Food Retailing, Metals Marketing, and Electricity Supply industries.

   
Elizabeth Rachidi - Director

Elizabeth Rachidi holds a BSc degree in Psychology and a post graduate qualification in Human Resource Management through UNISA. She began her career with the Exclusive Books Group as store manager in 1999, however her passion for practicing HR saw her move from store management into an HR Generalist function for the Group in 2002. Her specialist career path in Talent Acquisition began in 2004 when she joined the international Executive Search firm, Heidrick and Struggles as a research associate. Prior to joining Nedbank as Group Head of Employer Branding and Talent Acquisition in 2010, Elizabeth held Strategic Talent Sourcing Lead positions with Standard Bank Africa and Accenture. She is currently studying towards her MBA with the Gordan Institute of Business Science.

 
Chris Blair - Director

Chris Blair, Chief Executive Officer of 21st Century Pay Solutions Group (Pty) Ltd, has consulted to over 350 organisations - both in Southern Africa and internationally. Chris holds a BSC Chem Eng and is registered as a Chartered Human Resource (CHR) Practitioner with the South African Board for Personnel Practice (SABPP). Areas of work include incentive schemes, cost benefit analysis, financial modelling, breakeven analysis, feasibility studies, shareholder value, performance management systems, salary structures, total cost of employment, share schemes, organisation design and policy development. He is considered to be one of South Africa's leading experts in share scheme design for both listed and unlisted companies. Chris has published numerous articles on remuneration and he has appeared in the press for expert views on the subject.

   


Makgethwa Mokwena Koko - Director

Makgethwa Mokwena has been a generalist Human Resources professional for more than 17 years and is currently Group Human Resources Manager at BKS(Pty)Ltd, an SA Consulting Engineering Company that operates global. Over the past 17 years she worked at the CSIR ; and various blue chip companies, and development agencies amongst others being the Southern Africa Enterprises Development Fund, and Business Connexion SA as Group HR Manager, for Sanlam as a Senior Assessment Specialist and Telkom SA as Human Resources Systems Controller and Manager. Makgethwa has a B.Admin (Honours) in Industrial Psychology (Unisa). She has received several awards for her sterling achievements within the HR field including the latest "Honor Recognition Achievement" of inclusion in Standford who’s who black book on the basis of having demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities within her occupation.
   


Shane Hodgson - Director

Dr. Shane Hodgson is currently working for Goldfields as Head of Group Organisation Design and Change. Shane has had an extensive career as a Human Capital professional and organisational change specialist. With previous experience working for global blue chip companies like SAP, Price Waterhouse, Ernst and Young, Norwich Union and NCR Corporation, he has conducted business and HR transformation, organisational design and development assignments in 24 countries so far and has also worked as a senior HR Manager and HR Director. His academic qualifications include an M.Sc. in Psychology, an MBA in Strategy and Organisational Behaviour and a D.Phil in Leadership in Performance and Change. Shane originally registered as a Research Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in 1993 and is currently registered as a Chartered Occupational Psychologist in the UK and as a Master HR Practitioner in South Africa.

   


Ruwayne Kock - Director

Ruwayne Kock is the Talent & Development Manager at Coca-Cola, South Africa. A registered Industrial / Organisational Psychologist, Ruwayne possesses a wealth of people management experience in a variety of industries, including the Retail, Consulting Service, Financial, Telecommunications, NGOs and Public Service sectors. Ruwayne has published articles in the SA Journal of Industrial Psychology, HR Future, People Dynamics, Human Resources IQ and the American Public Personnel Management Journal to name a few. He conducted an Employee Engagement pilot survey in South Africa in 2009 and a repeat study in 2010. Ruwayne is also a sought-after conference presenter in the Strategic Talent Engagement field.

 


Prof. Karel Stanz - Director

Professor Karel Stanz is Head of Department, Department of Human Resource Management of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences, University of Pretoria. Karel is a registered Industrial Psychologist, a distinguished lecturer and researcher of note. He is a graduate from the Military Academy (Faculty of Military Science, University Stellenbosch), holds a masters' from the Rand Afrikaans University (RAU) and a DPhil: Leadership in Performance and Change from the University of Johannesburg (UJ). Prof Stanz has a proven record as promoter and supervisor of post-graduate students 7 has authored and co-authored numerous articles published nationally and internationally.
