Professor Karel Stanz is Head of Department, Department of Human Resource Management of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences, University of Pretoria. Karel is a registered Industrial Psychologist, a distinguished lecturer and researcher of note. He is a graduate from the Military Academy (Faculty of Military Science, University Stellenbosch), holds a masters’ from the Rand Afrikaans University (RAU) and a DPhil: Leadership in Performance and Change from the University of Johannesburg (UJ). Prof Stanz has a proven record as promoter and supervisor of post-graduate students 7 has authored and co-authored numerous articles published nationally and internationally.

Jeff Sacht is the founder, and Executive Director of the Human Capital Institute Africa (HCI Africa). Jeff is registered as both an Organisational & Industrial Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and as a Chartered Human Resource (CHR) Practitioner with the South African Board for Personnel Practice (SABPP). His major strength is to custom-design solutions in the areas of Human Capital & Talent Management, Change Management, Performance Management, & Organisation Assessment amongst others. He consults to line managers and HR Professionals in both the Public and Private sectors. Jeff has extensive corporate level experience having worked predominantly in Head Office specialist project units for large blue chip companies in the Food Retailing, Metals Marketing, and Electricity Supply industries.

Chris Blair, Chief Executive Officer of 21st Century Pay Solutions Group (Pty) Ltd, has consulted to over 350 organisations - both in Southern Africa and internationally. Chris holds a BSC Chem Eng and is registered as a Chartered Human Resource (CHR) Practitioner with the South African Board for Personnel Practice (SABPP). Areas of work include incentive schemes, cost benefit analysis, financial modelling, breakeven analysis, feasibility studies, shareholder value, performance management systems, salary structures, total cost of employment, share schemes, organisation design and policy development. He is considered to be one of South Africa’s leading experts in share scheme design for both listed and unlisted companies. Chris has published numerous articles on remuneration and he has appeared in the press for expert views on the subject.

Dr. Henry Grimbeek is currently the Director, Group Services, Nissan SA. He is also the Dean of Business School Netherlands SA – and the Vice Chair of the Advisory Board of the Human Capital Institute Africa. He has worked in both the Chemical / Mining and Automotive industry, in the disciplines of Business Planning/ Human Resources/ IT and Operations. Amongst other, Henry is also an active learner and lecturer - who has supervised over 100 MBA dissertations, presented 40 papers locally and international, plus published 4 books. His work does take him frequently to the East – Japan specific, and this had allowed him the opportunity to be exposed to various Japanese management ideologies. Henry is married to Rosa.

Elsje Greyling is an independent management and human resources consultant. She has extensive experience in the public service, academic and healthcare sectors as a human resources specialist and professional, executive manager and director and more recently as an advisor, consultant and researcher. Elsje holds an M Com degree in Human Resources Management (Cum Laude) from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Her major strengths are to design and implement solutions in the areas of organisational development, knowledge management and systems, skills development, compliance and governance, talent acquisition and retention as well as public sector reform and transformation.

Elizabeth Rachidi

Elizabeth Rachidi holds a BSc degree in Psychology and a post graduate qualification in Human Resource Management. Following her studies, she began her career with the Exclusive Books Group as an assistant store manager for their first international airport operation, in 1999. Shortly thereafter, she was promoted to a Store Manager, responsible for setting up the group’s operation in Gateway, Umhlanga. Her passion for practicing HR, saw her move into an HR Generalist function for the Group in 2002. In 2004, she joined the international Executive Search firm, Heidrick and Struggles as a research associate. The role allowed her an opportunity to hone her skills for Talent Acquisition, with a particular focus on Executive appointments. Prior to joining Standard Bank Africa in February 2009, Elizabeth headed up the Talent Sourcing function for Accenture for 3 years, where she was responsible for managing the talent acquisition portfolio of both experienced hires as well as the entry level internship and graduate development programmes. In her current role as Head of Strategic Resourcing for Standard Bank Africa, her focus is to lead the strategic resourcing function to deliver an end-to-end resourcing strategy, framework and operating principles to enable the delivery of a people plan, in accordance with the business strategy. Elizabeth believes in the future possibilities of Africa and unlocking the potential talent that exists across the African continent.

Makgethwa Mokwena

Makgethwa Mokwena has been a generalist Human Resources professional for more than 15 years and is currently Human Resources Manager at CSIR. Over the last 15 years Makgethwa has worked for various blue chip companies, and development agencies amongst others being the Southern Africa Enterprises Development Fund, and Business Connexion SA as Group HR Manager, for Sanlam as a Senior Assessment Specialist and Telkom SA as Human Resources Systems Controller and Manager. Makgethwa has a B.Admin (Honours) in Industrial Psychology (Unisa).
