Creating a Learning Organisation Model

Posted by: Mags Shapiro in Wokforce Effectiveness

Mags Shapiro

Learning used to be seen as the cause of disruptive change.  Today, innovation is seen as the only way to stay ahead.

I'm in the process of developing a Strategy for Creating a Learning Organisation for one of my clients and the following model is emerging:

The model is based on 4 inter-related phases:

  1. Ensuring data is identified, gathered and stored and that key certainties are documented without taking anything for granted.
  2. Taking the time to stop and reflect upon what we've done, what we think we know and creating meaning from this in order to gain better insight into what we do, how we do it (processes we follow), characteristics and variables which have an impact.
  3. Creating a working environment which is also a learning environment. Understanding what kind of space we need as a collective and as individuals in order to acquire insight and what kind of support structures are required in order to ensure the work and insights are continuously documented.
  4. Creating and using tools to enable future sharing of knowledge and insights and use in other formats such as social media.
