If you didn't get the chance to review performance before the silly season started, its a great way to kick start the year.
Here are some sample questions:
1. What are some of the highlights for you at work during the past year?
2. Is there anything you could do to ensure the same thing(s) go well in the coming year?
3. What have you done to deliver more value to the company than you did 6 months ago?
4. What is your favourite part of your job? What makes it special/enjoyable?
5. What was your biggest mistake/regret at work during the past year? What did you learn from it?
6. How could you be more helpful to other people on the team?
7. What could you do to make your job easier/more satisfying? How would that improve our overall success?
8. Is there anything we could do to make your job easier/more satisfying?
9. How do you think our business is going to change in the future? What challenges do you think we face?
10. What new knowledge or skills do you think you need to develop?
11. Are you satisfied with your current position?
12. What is your future dream role? How can we put elements of this into your role? How can we help move you towards it?
13. What makes you stay with us?
14. What things could draw you away to another company?
15. Do you feel you are managed well? Are we managing you too closely, or not enough?
