Margaret "Mags" Shapiro is an independent consultant focussing on organisational effectiveness and sustainability in private and NGO sectors. Mags is currently embarking on a (research) Master's in Commerce:Leadership & Corporate Citizenship at UKZN. She has held various training and consulting positions with Pricewaterhouse Coopers & Associated Companies, initially in Adult Basic Education & Training (ABET) and later in Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) and Human Resources (HR)Consulting. A Social Science graduate of the University of Natal, Mags is also qualified as a Business Coach. Over the years she has coached and trained trainers, team leaders, middle & senior managers and undertaken various consulting projects in South Africa, Lesotho and Malaysia focused on developing the best practices and social dialogue necessary to realise performance improvement in the workplace. Her current focus is on good corporate citizenship.
